Analysing your national culture

Think about this

How would you describe your national culture using Hofstede’s dimensions? Have a look at the Hofstede Insights website and enter your country name to make a comparison with this data. Do these results reflect your perceptions of the different cultures? What could this mean for how you perceive culture in an Australian workplace?

Within these statements are a lot of generalisations, and it is not possible to claim that every person across a society has these traits. The argument of Hofstede, though, is that within societies there are elements that are more present across the whole of the population. These ideas tend to form what is often represented as the national identity.
